Meal Share Food Rescue

Meal Share logo

In 1995, Hoosier Hills Food Bank started a prepared-food rescue project called Meal Share. Since then, Meal Share has collected nearly a million pounds of food.

The concept of Meal Share is to safely capture prepared food from restaurants, catering businesses, and other food preparation entities and distribute it to families in need through approved HHFB partner agencies.

Meal Share complies with applicable food safety regulations that protect HHFB, the donor, and the end user families. Safe-serv trained staff collect food in our refrigerated van with the appropriate containers and labeling for distribution directly to soup kitchens.
