Upcoming Events in 2023
Hoosier Hills will kick off Hunger Action Month with its third Farm Fresh Friday produce distribution. On Friday August 31, from 8:30 am to 3 pm, anyone in need is invited to come by the food bank at 2333 West Industrial Park Drive on the west side of Bloomington to receive fresh produce.
“During Hunger Action Month in September we’re going to be asking the community to support the food bank in several ways and we thought having another Farm Fresh Friday right before that was a great way to demonstrate the value and importance of distributing fresh produce to people who struggle to purchase it,” said HHFB Executive Director and CEO Julio Alonso.
Other Hunger Action Month activities include the opportunity to support HHFB through the Bloomingfoods Positive Change program. Shoppers at Bloomingfoods can round up their purchases with the additional funds donated to the food bank.
Upland Brewing Company will also be supporting the food bank with a Pint Night in September, on a date that is yet to be announced.
HHFB hopes to cap off Hunger Action Month with a huge showing at Hoosier Hysteria on September 29th. The annual IU basketball event encourages fans to bring a food donation and it is one of the food bank’s largest annual food drives. Come out and donate!
