40th Anniversary! this October 17th -22nd
The 40th Annual Community Book Fair, a benefit for Hoosier Hills Food Bank, will take place October 17th through 22nd at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. This year’s book fair will fill two buildings with over 100,000 books, DVDs, CDs, LPs, games, puzzles and other items at affordable prices to support the food bank’s work. There will be a large selection of children’s books and collectible “Better Books,” which will also include a selection of vintage vinyl LPs.
We accept gently used books, CDs, DVDs, records, games and puzzles at the Hoosier Hills Food Bank Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m (2333 W. Industrial Park Dr). We do not accept donations October 1st-31st. For more information, please call (812) 334-8374 or e-mail Ryan at volunteer@hhfoodbank.org.
We are honored to be the home of this beloved community event. For more than 30 years, we’ve promoted a message of sustainability – that too much food is wasted and should instead be channeled to people at risk of hunger. In many ways, the same is true of used books. We can’t afford to be a throwaway society – not with food, not with books and certainly not with people
Bring a canned food donation for a $1 book buck coupon!

How to Get Involved
We accept gently used books, CDs, DVDs, Records, Games and Puzzles at the Hoosier Hills Food Bank Monday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm (2333 W. Industrial Pk Dr). For more information please call (812) 334-8374 or email Ryan at volunteer@hhfoodbank.org.
We couldn’t have accepted the undertaking of sorting thousands of books without the dedication of the committee of roughly 30 volunteers. We are always looking for more volunteers to join the sorting efforts. Please e-mail Ryan at volunteer@hhfoodbank.org for more information. Scheduling is flexible, although sorting involves some training and a regular commitment is needed.
The fair is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever, and with 3-4,000 people visiting the fair in an average year, becoming a sponsor is a great way to not only support HHFB, but to get your company’s name out in the community. Sponsorships help offset many of the costs of hosting the book fair so that book sales can support our hunger relief programs.
Sponsorship opportunities at a variety of levels are still available. Please call Jake at (812) 334-8374 or e-mail jake@hhfoodbank.org for more information.
