Support for the Hoosier Hills Food Bank does not solely benefit one organization or program, but rather over 85 agencies that feed hungry people through food pantries, soup kitchens, youth programs, senior centers, homeless shelters and residential programs including domestic violence shelters, group homes and addiction recovery houses. Why should I give to HHFB? Giving options to support Hoosier Hills Food Bank:

1. Fighting hunger makes economic sense: Hunger causes decreased productivity, absenteeism, and increase health care costs. By supporting HHFB, you support over 80 agencies with feeding programs and you leverage over $1 million dollars in national food donations for our community. 2. There is no excuse for people to go hungry: We have the resources as long as we have the will. Over 96 billion pounds of food is wasted in America each year. 3. Fighting hunger is the right thing to do: No senior citizen should ever have to choose between food and medicine and no child should ever go to bed hungry. It's that simple. 4. The need for what we do is greater and more important than ever: In 2007, as consumer prices for food and energy jumped by the largest amount in 17 years, HHFB distributed an organizational record of 2.3 million pounds of food. There will always be people in our communities facing crisis, but an increasing number of emergency food assistance system clients are working people who simply don't make enough money to sustain themselves and their families.
